Damn you MSM!

Pajama Media wingnut, SoCalPundit is outraged at the "MSM" (wingnutterance for "Main Stream Media") for not reporting on....wait for it...Stephen Baldwin. Yep.

You may remember Stephen Baldwin as the blond acting brother of Alec and William. Stephen was in "The Usual Suspects" (a good role) as well as, um....."Biodome" (the Pauly Shore vehicle) and...and, uh...I can't think another damn thing Stephen Baldwin has been in.

Anyway, the dude apparently became a born again Christian. I remember reading about this during the 2004 election. I also remember not giving a rat's ass because it's fucking Stephen Baldwin. These days, Stevo can be found in Nyack, NY - about 20 minutes from where I grew up - protesting a movie theater that shows pornographic films.

Baldwin, the youngest of the acting clan that includes older brothers Alec, Billy and Daniel, has planted himself on the sidewalk outside a new adult entertainment business located about one mile from his home and is photographing workers and their vehicles as they prepare the store for opening.

The actor says he plans to stand outside the store every day and photograph license plates of its patrons until the business closes. He will, he threatens, identify the store's customers and pay for a one-page newspaper ad each month to publish their names.

You may be asking, "Who gives a shit, Mike?" That's what I would be asking too. But "SoCalPundit" apparently can't fathom why this important news story is not garnering "MSM" attention. SoCal's answer is, of course, bias against Christians.

"The MSM doesn’t cover Stephen Baldwin anymore. Yes he one of the 4 famous “Baldwin Brothers” and had a success in movies and reality TV in his own right but the fact that he is a Born-Again Christian (and an active, outspoken one at that) and because he endorsed George W. Bush for re-election in 2004, the media just don’t think he is news worthy anymore."

Yes. That's why the media doesn't think Stephen Baldwin is newsworthy. I mean, why would the dread "MSM" NOT cover this brave protest? Truly, Stephen Baldwin is the 21st century Nelson Mandela.

Of course, the "MSM" is probably responsible for the failure of "Biodome" as well.

I think we should take up James Wolcott's suggestion and refer to Pajamas Media as "whiny-ass titty baby media."

As an aside, if you check out the link you can see a picture of Stephen in his ridiculous "Jesus" hat in the style of the rock-band "Phish" logo. Stephen is doing his part in making sure the kids are down with Jesus, yo, by "co-producing a Christian DVD called, 'Livin' It,' aimed at the extreme-sports culture of skateboarding and BMX stunt biking." Why is it that Christian TV/Music/Art/WhateverTheFuck has to make some lame-ass attempt at sounding cool by titling their shit something like, "Livin' It'? How about a DVD titled "Jesus Christ is totally tubular, dude!"?

Good luck Stephen. Take consolation in the fact that some wingnut at some giant debacle of a group-blog will bitch and moan when you fail.

You are a clueless sort of fellow. It is VERY true that the mass media gives little press to those people that reflect a differing point of view. If you can't see the obvious, you are more than just ignorant.

Okay, Larry. A third-rate actor and his silly protest don't get covered.....and it's because the media has made a deliberate attempt to shut out different viewpoints.

I used to think you guys were lying when you brought stuff like this up, but then I realized that you were operating under a much darker and more dangerous type of ignorance.

Stephen Baldwin's 15 minutes was up last decade. He and his "fans" should get over it.

And the media chooses to cover relevant stories. Some has been actor's misguided moral quest should remain off the list all together.

I'm tired of the conservative right wing whining so much these days -- guess what guys, people should be against judgemental bigots and irrelevance and stupidity. The problem with the conservative Christian agenda is that it doesn't support an individual's freedom of choice or the belief that we can coexist in a world in which we make different lifestyle choices. That's about as un-American as you can get.

And Larry, if you're going to toss around insults on this site, at least be a little witty or creative. Right now you personally sound more ignorant than your viewpoint. And back up your arguement with some logic or an assertion that's more than a "if you can't see what I see" bullshit statement.

I'm glad that of all the stories that are underreported or not reported at all, that this media watchdog has chosen Stephen Baldwin's skateboard ministry to use as the primary example of media criticism.

Thank goodness these crusaders will keep us focused on these monumental issues and not on those petty distractions of ethnic genocide, labor abuse, debilitating diseases, environmental decay, and governement corruption. I mean we hear way too much of that mumbo jumbo on the nightly news broadcast.

It's about time the well to do, thirty-something, caucasian, b list, born again Christian actors received some respect from the media in this country...

...for they are the meek who shall inherit this Earth.
