So, Omar Minaya, General Manager of my hometown team, the New York Mets, is getting flak for signing too many Hispanic players, eh?
What the fuck?
This offseason the Mets have signed Carlos Delgado (rican) as well as noted Hispanics Billy Wagner and Paul Lo Duca....oh wait...they're not Hispanic at all. And so what if they were. They're good.
About a year ago, I heard some idiot joking that Omar Minaya was trying to turn the team into "Los Mets." It reminded me of a scene in The Siege, where Denzel Washington turns to some moron and says, "You know, you're dumb enough to think that's an insult."

Is it naive of me that I didn't realize there were tanks in the city? Was I not paying attention, or was that aspect under reported?
