Theocracy

So I should just give up my day-gig, throw in the towel, and go to law school like the tool I know that I am. I've even made a decision: Liberty Law School!

The school, part of Liberty University, whose chancellor is the Rev. Jerry Falwell, is for now a makeshift affair in a vast industrial building that used to be a cellular phone factory.

Perfect. I always thought I would go to law school in a cellular phone factory anyway. That or the knacker's yard. And somehow, I knew Jerry Falwell would be involved in my future plans.

The prevailing orthodoxy at the elite law schools is an extreme rationalism that draws a strong distinction between faith and reason," said Bruce W. Green, Liberty's dean

Yeah. I hate that extreme rationalism. Better to go with gut feeling and what God tells you when approaching the legal system. When all else fails, flip a coin. Just don't be extremely rational. Oh, we need a quote from the founder of Liberty University.

"If our graduates wind up in the government," Dr. Falwell said, "they'll be social and political conservatives. If they wind up as judges, they'll be presiding under the Bible."

And it's about time. Finally, I'll have a chance at having my cases heard regarding slavery, shellfish prohibition, restrictions on cutting one's hair, etc.
Did you know that before 1750 both liquor and slavery were illegal in the state of Georgia? (This is true) It was eventually lifted when those Georgians wised up and realized that Jacob had used the wages earned from his father-in-law to purchase slaves (Genesis 32:3-5). I know Liberty University has my back on this one. After all, its faculty is "presiding under the Bible."

Oh, there might be one problem.

The school is not yet accredited by the American Bar Association, which means its students are taking an enormous risk. If accreditation is not granted by the time they graduate in 2007, they will not be eligible to take the bar examination.

I hope this school is never accredited and that the students get out now before they invest more of their time and money. My hunch, however, is that the school will in fact be accredited, and its graduates out and spreading theocracy real soon.

It's worth reading in full
