Just plain evil

Missouri Republican Sen. Kit Bond on Thursday fired his communications director for running a political Web site named for the tail number of a plane that crashed in 2000, killing the state's Democratic governor.

The site's title -- N8354N -- "is not random," a note on the Web site read. "It marks an inflection point in current Missouri politics. On that day, the worm began to turn." Content was removed from the site early Thursday morning.

N8354N was the tail number of the plane that crashed, killing Governor Mel Carnahan, his son, and a senior staff member. Man I remember that day and it was HILLARIOUS! I remember coming back from class and turning on the TV in my dorm (this was a few days before the third presidential debate, the one at Wash U.) and I remember how FUNNY it was when I saw the coverage of Carnahan's missingplane.

Then I remember what a riot it was in those few hours that the plane was just reported as "missing" and I was holding out hope that he was still alive. THAT was funny.

No, oh wait, it was probably the most tragic and wrenching thing I had experienced since moving to Missouri. I really do remember that day very well. And I was sure that Ashcroft would win the election.

But he didn't. Did I vote for Carnahan? Hell yes I did. And it annoys me when people mock Ashcroft as someone "who lost to a dead guy." Trust me, I wasn't
'just voting for a dead guy" and I wasn't casting a sympathy vote. I knew that by electing Carnahan, his wife would do the best she could to fill his void. And she did.

And now Ashcroft controls all of our lives and Carnahan's seat is held by that piece of shit Jim Talent. This story just gets me angry all over again.

I hate this guy

I was reading the list, and some of the things were so ridiculous I laughed to myself (particularly items nine and ten). But it's really more sad than funny that people who make decisions that affect others, often in profound ways, can be such boners.

Is there anything I can do besides vote?

You can start by fitting the word "boner" into more sentences, Greg.

Hey Mike, since this blog is your space to talk about everything, not just those kooky konservatives, how about an update on what's going on with you? Hope all is ok.
